Hair Experiment-Week 2

So in the fall I read in a beauty magazine about the benefits of not using shampoo to wash your hair.  I know, crazy right?  But I was intrigued, they talked about the changes in their hair-fuller, thicker, more depth of color-what's not to like?  So I thought about it a while, did some research here, here and here amongst others and finally decided to give it a try when I ran out of my shampoo and conditioner. I had to prepare my husband for it and make sure he was up for the experiment too.  I got him to read some about it and after a lot of "when did you become such a hippie?" and " is shampoo really that expensive?" he was ready and I was out of shampoo and conditioner.

I have now gone two weeks of not washing my hair but once a week with baking soda, water and conditioning with apple cider vinegar.  Thank god for the "embrace messy hair movement!  This week was much better than last week.  I wash my hair on Tuesday nights so I'm ready for my office meetings on Wednesday.  My hair on Monday was definitely more touchable than last Monday but it still had some serious grease and serious stays where it's put.  I used that to my advantage and did some teasing and a headband.

I'm going to post updates weekly on how the progress is going and some updates on new do's I'm finding to hide the in between stages :)
